About This Listing

Very rare Mark IV Custom from Breedlove's entry into electrics. What makes it even more rare is that it is a SET NECK model. These were initially made with a bolt on (two-bolt) neck. Towards the end of the Mark era, Breedlove was having many issues with the bolted neck joint. So they had the option to build them with set necks for a vastly improved instrument in terms of stability and sound. The contour around the neck joint is masterful, in particular. You can occasionally find the bolt ons but you almost never see the set necks.

This one has a flamed maple top on a mahogany body with a light tobacco burst finish. The flame cuts across the grain creating an absolutely stunning instrument. The photos do not do it justice. It is a work of art.

Specs:

1 11/16" nut width

25" scale

Breedlove dot inlay

Gotoh 381 Tuners

Ebony fingerboard on a mahogany neck

Mahogany body with flamed maple top

Chrome Tonepros hardware

Seymour Duncan 59 Model pickups (SH-1B and SH-1N) with three way switch

This is a one-owner instrument with the original deluxe logo hardshell case. There is light handling wear, with some pick swirls that are hard to see (you have to hold it just right up against the light to see, so it was hard to photograph). Take a close look at all pictures. This has been played very little. It is a hand-made custom shop level instrument. They will not be making any more of these, so grab it while you can. Let me know if you have any questions.
