This is a set of two vintage General Electric 6CA7 EL34 Fat-Bottle tubes. Both have been tested on a Hickok 800 tube tester, with one reading 4700 and the other 4300. On my tester, new EL34’s generally read above 4700, and under 3000 would be considered low. The readings on these tubes indicate they are both very strong.
I listened to them in a Dynakit MK IV amplifier and a Marshall 2204 JCM 800, and they sounded great together in each amp, with no signs of noise or microphonics. My dual bias tester showed that in both amps, they are very close in plate current and make an excellent, tightly matched pair.
These big/fat bottle 6CA7’s are rare and are becoming hard to find. They are very well made, nice tubes.
The tubes will come with plain white EL34 boxes, and they will be packaged very safely. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Thank you!
