I bought this bass a couple years ago in really rough shape, but it’s thumpin’ now! Did a bunch of stuff to restore/reimagine this little ripper and you can see a detailed list below.
It’s a 24” scale 1970s import (probably Korea), currently setup with 65-130 strings.
It measures 1 41/64” at the nut (which is the original plastic one).
Work Done:
__Fret Level
__Full rewire - 500k CTS pots (pickup is less muddy overall), .047uf OrangDrop cap (tone can be rolled off more), PureTone output jack
__Bridge Riser - made so that the bridge ground wire can still make contact (and not look ugly) once the bridge has been properly moved for intonation. Due to the shape etc of the original saddle, EXACT intonation isn’t really an option across all 4 strings but it’s damn close.
__Thumb Rest/Strap Buttons - I had this super cool solid brass Fender thumb rest from the 80s lying around, and it went so well with these big brass strap buttons
__Setup - I used the low strings from a 5string set and holy moly do they work great on this little bass.
