Made in Japan JV series Squier Telecaster. This is arguably the most sought after of the JV guitars. Check out the entire web page dedicated to this great guitar at the 21 frets website for some great info. There are also a few YouTube videos out there with this guitar featured. This guitar was not sold in the USA. They originated mainly from the UK, Germany and Canada. Good luck finding another, as you won't...and definitely not in this nice shape for a 31 year old guitar. You don't see one of these very often! DO NOT confuse this with the Japan Domestic Model JV Telecaster. THIS ONE is the version that was exported and what everyone wants.
Stamped JV on the bridge plate. 1983 neck date. Cloth wiring on both controls and pickups. All slot screws. Beautiful butterscotch and nice wood grain showing. Appears all original except for the strap buttons, which can be changed out for a couple bucks, Just had a great setup by a luthier and it plays and sounds fantastic. Guitar is not perfect, but presents itself well. Back of neck is clean. There is some fretwear, see pics. Plays fine, but you might want to dress the frets at some point. There is a slight burn mark on the peghead from a cigarette. There are a couple (two) edge chips on the backside that have been touched up, see last pic. Hard to notice, perfect color match, there is this one shown, and another near the end that is smaller, just on the back edge, front is clean. Normal pickwear on guard, light signs of use. Otherwise, pretty clean old guitar. Electronics work fine, and it sounds amazing!
Honestly, I don't think you'll find a cleaner one. Not perfect, but I mentioned all the faults and I priced it accordingly. Somebody will get a bargain. Comes with a used molded SKB hardshell case, as shown. Case has some scratching and interior is not perfect, but it does the job. Since the demise of Fender Japan earlier this year, this baby is destined to skyrocket in value!! So put the SQ telecaster down, and the 57 and 62 JV strat down, because we all know they are a dime a dozen and everyone has got one. However, the JV 52 Export Telecaster? A rare bird for sure.
