About This Listing

Catch the Retro Vibe with this Candy Apple Coronado II! The transparent red allows the grain to tease through.. very sexy! Looks hot, sounds spectacular. All original parts and specs except for the case - you will get a newer Gibson hard shell case with extra thick padding to protect your new gear. A few marks are visible in the photos but overall this axe is in excellent condition. These guitars are known for their thin C neck profiles and this is no exception, it feels super sleek and comfortably curvy! It's nice and light as you'd expect from a hollow body at 5.8 lbs. The Coronado II has two pickups, neck and bridge positions, two volume and two tone controls, as well as a three-position selector switch. The pickups are passive type, as the guitars were only made in 1966 and 1967. The body front, sides and back are constructed of laminated, domestic Beechwood and have a relatively thin, 'C' shaped maple neck topped with fingerboards of Indian rosewood. Radius is 7.25 nut width is 1 and 5/8" scale length is 25.5 Thanks for looking! Any and all questions are welcome!

Product Overview
The Fender Coronado II was a part of the short-lived Coronado Series, designed by Roger Rossmeisl after the CBS buyout. The Coronado II was one of the first Fender hollowbodies, sporting two single-coil DeArmond pickups and an optional tremolo system. Unfortunately, Fender's attempt to enter into the hollowbody market failed; the Coronado II and its siblings didn't catch on and only lasted through a few years of production; however, their uniqueness has made them beloved by some players and collectors.
