GETZEN SINGLE VALVE TENOR BUGLE Mid ‘60’s Near Mint Condition w/case & mouthpiece
This horn is what appears to be a single valve tenor bugle; a very cool and unique instrument overall, manufactured by the Getzen company in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. We believe it’s a tenor, but haven’t been able to confirm that. (Maybe someone on this seller’s platform can help)!
The instrument also comes with a Getzen mouthpiece, presumed to be the original. This instrument is near mint condition, and has the serial number F72x (the letter “F” plus 3 numbers only). This serial number would date this instrument around 1964-1967, according to our serial number search. The instrument is in virtually new condition, with what appears to be the original case. The case has it’s fair share of normal wear and tear (a few scuffs hear and there), but is fully functional otherwise. Also, someone wrote “AF EXCESS”, and “PPS” on the side of the case, possibly with permanent, or semi-permanent marker, and, according to our research, may have something to do with the military. Perhaps this instrument was played in an Army, or military band of some sort. We haven’t tried to remove the markings - - we’ll leave that up to the buyer.
This is a very cool instrument and would make a great addition to any brass player’s collection of instruments!
Don’t miss this one!
