This is a neat, oddball violin from an unknown maker. I did get an opinion from an appraiser who knew some of the story of this instrument that it was probably made in the 50s or 60s in Paradox, Colorado. It's not quite right - the scroll is off-center. The f-holes aren't evenly placed, and in general it's just .... well obviously homemade. However the sound is pretty good on it, surprisingly so. Would likely need attention here and there for a serious collector/player - but would be a nice addition to someones arsenal just for looks. Pictured alongside a modern student violin so you can compare the two only, it is obviously not included in the sale. Will come with a case and bow.
