Back Story In 1996 Marsha and Ron Kayfield of a Philadelphia based Music company, Arpeggio Music, as a novelty decided to build the first ever Klingon guitar called the "Bird Of Prey". It was inspired by the Klingon ship the “Bird of Prey” from the TV series Star Trek.
We obtained permission from Viacom/Paramount, to exhibit our guitar at sci-fi conventions to survey the fans for possible mass production.
After a couple conventions we met a few of the actors from the Star Trek series. The actors pictured, out of makeup, are well-known by their fans and are seen here playing our "Bird Of Prey" guitar. J. G. Hertzler (left) played General Martog and Robert O’Reilly (right) played Gowron. We remember them saying to us, 'We need to use this on our next movie!!" We don't know how to say it in Klingon but we know they really liked it.
This instrument was handmade in the USA by us and is the only one of its kind in the world! The Klingon Bird of Prey comes with a hardshell case and a certificate of authenticity.
