Here is something a little different, a parlor-sized, deep bodied instrument with a cutaway from John Walker. John spent time working with Ren Fergususon at Gibson's Bozeman Montana Custom Shop and now builds his own line of high-end acoustics out of his own MT shop. Vintage Gibson-style acoustics are his specialty.

This little guitar is approximately the size of a '0' with a lower bout width of just 13-1/2" a body length of 19" and is 4-3/4" deep at the tail block. It has a 24-3/4" scale length, 2-5/16" string spacing and a 1-3/4" nut width. It has an Engelmann spruce top with optional cutaway, Adirondack spruce bracing and figured maple for the back and sides. It has a short scale, 14-fret clear mahogany neck with a Gibson-like carve. Its high-end cosmetic appointments include ivoroid binding on the body, neck and headstock, a stinger on the back of the headstock, unbleached bone for the nut and saddle, black ebony for the bridge and fingerboard and abalone inlays on the headstock and fretboard. It is finished in a full body cherry sunburst lacquer and has boxwood pins. This is one classy little piece!

The small body size, and cutaway make this an acoustic you will reach for when you might otherwise grab an electric guitar. It plays nice and easy like an electric too, with easy upper fret access thanks to the cutaway and 12th fret string heights of 5/64" on the low E side and 4/64" on the high E side. The slightly deeper body gives it far more power than an acoustic of this size ought to be capable of and the tone is warm and woody with lots of mid-range punch. Please check out the brief sound samples provided on our website. This would make for a great acoustic blues guitar.

This unique piece is in excellent condition with just a few tiny flaws which are pictured. The frets remain in excellent condition as well. It comes in its original Cedar Creek case which is also in superb condition.

A new example of this fine instrument would cost north of $7K from John these days along with a significant wait time I'm sure. Get this very special piece today at a price that is thousands less. Highly recommended!
