Gibson L6-S Rare Appointments

OUR OPINION: This is possible collector's piece. Gibson L6-S (We have only seen block inlays used in first year) with ultra rare "script style" headstock logo. Script logo was used on the original prototype that Carlos Santana used for his consultation with Gibson, but we've never seen it on a production version (the first prototype had no serial number, but this one does - Weird / Please Google Gibson L6S Prototype Carlos Santana).

Modified to a 3-way switch (original varitone included, but top of shaft is broken and do not know if it works) The 3-way switch doesn't seem to do anything, and appears that both pickups are on all the time. First two knobs appear to be volume knobs, and the last one is a tone, that can be pushed in for, what seems to us a slight twang/brighter tone. The color is most likely NOT a refinish, but a faded Wine Red finish. The original color shows clearly in the pickup cavities. (see pictures). Finish checking here and there, some surface scratches, nicks, belt buckle rash, etc. Plays and sounds great. Gibson hard case. Please ask all questions, and we can send more pictures if necessary.
