The Gibson Les Paul success story began in 1952 with the now legendary Gold Top model with P-90 pickups. Initially equipped with a trapezoid tailpiece, the Gold Top was fitted with a Tune-O-Matic bridge in 1955, which made playing much easier.

As a tribute to Gibson's golden age, this icon of rock music has now been released in a new edition with authentic specifications. The Les Paul Standard 50's P-90 Gold Top features a solid, unchambered mahogany body with a maple top, a rounded 50's style mahogany neck and a rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid inlays. The two P-90 pickups are made for blues and classic rock. Sometimes rough, aggressive and angry sounding, but also brilliant and harmonious in clean mode. "Best of both worlds" so to say. The built-in Orange Drop capacitors are probably the best electronics you can give a guitar. This makes this Les Paul Standard 50's P-90 Gold Top come near to Custom Shop quality.
