1995 Rickenbacker 660/12TP Tom Petty Limited Edition Signature electric guitar with a Jetglo black finish. This is a very rare and limited guitar, which would fit perfectly in any collection. Only 186 of these guitars were made with a Jetglo finish. This example has been well kept in its case for most of its life with minimal handling wear. It is definitely a case queen. The guitar weighs just 7.76 pounds.
Considering its age, this guitar is in outstanding condition. There are no signs of any actual playwear, just light handling marks on the back of the body. This is a very glossy black guitar, so small handling marks are apparent throughout under intense direct lighting. All chrome hardware looks immaculate with no tarnishing. The frets show no visible signs of fretwear. There is one small finish ding on the back of the headstock next to one of the tuners, which is the only real blemish on this guitar. The back tuner has been replaced with factory original replacements, and the original is included. The original control cover has been replaced, but the original cracked cover is included in the case.

Rickenbacker Model 660/12TP
The Tom Petty Limited Edition, Model 660/12TP, was entirely hand made in America from solid "charactered" Eastern Rock Maple with a fully inlaid 21 fret rosewood fingerboard. Using neck through body construction, this 12-string instrument features "checked" binding, vintage pickups, vintage knobs, gold pickguard and nameplate, vintage keys designed to Rickenbacker specifications, trapeze tailpiece and a 12 saddle bridge. The neck on the 660/12TP was designed to Petty's demanding standards. A Rickenbacker vintage case is included with each instrument. The instrument was available in Fireglo and Jetglo. The company previewed the instrument at the 1988 Summer NAMM show in Atlanta.
The model was formally introduced at the 1991 Winter NAMM Show in Anaheim. Rickenbacker manufactured only 1000 of these instruments. Each guitar was accompanied by an individually numbered Certificate of Authenticity and Origin. Production deliveries and certificate numbers will follow order sequence.
