About This Listing

Built by myself, this Partscaster features a lovely solid ash body, along with a nice quality yellowed gloss maple neck. I'm pretty sure this features a rosewood fretboard.

The appearance of the body is very similar to the "Mocha" range of F type guitars. Although it's solid ash it's not super heavy. The thickness is approximately 4cm, the overall weight of the guitar is 3.7 kg.

The black scratchplate has a slight sparkle to it. This was totally made from scratch and turned out pretty nice, however the fit isn't perfect as you'll notice a very small gap along the left of the neck pocket. There is also a slight overhang along the right side of the body.

The neck is very nice, but it did need quite a bit of work doing to it. The fret edges were very sharp and there were quite a few high spots. Although a little fret buzz may still be present the playability of this neck is far better than it was. It is still quite quirky looking as you'll notice some of the dot markers are off centre, and one of the side dot markers was placed too high which is why you'll see a small white line along the board of the 3rd fret. The machine heads are not placed exactly where they should be, but none of these little mistakes have any impact on the use of this instrument. It all gives this one-off model a little more character!

The pickups feature a Wilkinsons single coil at the bridge, along with a powerful and very cool looking Belcat widerange style humbucker at the neck. The controls are super basic - just one volume dial for each pickup. All of the cavities of this guitar have been shielded, I've also fitted a more reliable Neutrik jack socket.

The guitar is supplied with a brand new padded bag made by The Original Gigbag Company.
