About This Listing

1957 Guild X-375 Vintage Archtop Guitar.
Wasn't sure whether this was an X-350 or X-375, as I have read different info on them. Some folks claim X-375's were only blonde, X-350's were sunburst. Well, this one is sunburst and the label inside says it's an X-375, and has the serial number. So maybe a special order. In any case, it's a gorgeous old 3 pickup archtop. Guild's competitor to the Gibson Switchmaster, I guess.

Great condition for its age, amazingly the binding is intact-not shrunken, reglued or falling off. As can be seen in pictures, the one end of the plastic 6 button switchplate has cracked off and is retained by a washer now. Original case in darned good condition.
Plays fine, no problems with neck/frets. Frets show virtually no wear and if it was ever refretted, it was a beautiful factory looking job.
Neck is straight and action low with no fret outs. Tuners work smoothly.
All electronics work fine. Really cool range of sounds with 6 button selectors and vol/tone knobs. The original old capacitors on the pickup selector were removed to open up the tone, removing the muffling that used to happen, . Huge improvement- Franz pickups, kinda similar to old p90's, are rare and desirable, for good reason. Each pickup has a slightly different sized housing so as to keep similar distance from poles to strings. Man... they were craftsmen back in the day.

Cool guitar and looks awesome on stage...everyone into guitars asks about it! Get your Dave Edmunds look going...haha! Unfortunately I must sell my most valuable stuff to fund mixing, mastering and marketing of a new album. If it makes money, I'll be looking for another!
