This was one of my favorites in my collection, so much so that I had its modified V neck reproduced for two other custom guitars. If you’re looking at this you probably know this a fairly rare and fine instrument, and this is a prime example of this special Fender run. The neck pick up is a custom wound Seymour Duncan strat pickup and the bridge is a custom wound Seymour Duncan Tele. Mr Donahue designed them to work off a five-way selector switch, offering unique but classic strat and tele sounds. The hardware is gold. The neck is a solid piece of birdseye maple. The body is resonant swamp ash sandwiched between two slices of birdseye maple, with a deep trans red color they called “Crimson Transparent “.
The guitar is not perfect, so i can’t grade it “mint”. But the imperfections are slight, and don’t even seem to show in the photos. A little light buckle rash but no significant dents or dings anywhere, including on the headstock. It’s just a great instrument, made when the Fender Custom Shop was still a small operation.
It comes with its original case and papers, and I am the original purchaser. The guitar is 100% original and has never seen a guitar shop. Nonsmoking household
If the guitar is not as described I will take it back with 2 days.
