About This Listing

This listing includes the Triggs 2014 Acoustic, a TKL case, and an amazing pickup setup.

I've had this guitar for quite some time now. I won it at the Walnut Valley Fingerstyle Festival in 2014. This is an amazing guitar and I just have too many guitars. This guitar has a nice crisp full sound. If you are into doing percussion on the body of the guitar, the maple gives an amazing slap sound when hit on the side of the guitar.

The guitar has a lot of electronics in it. I installed a K&K pure mini under the bridge, a DPA mic in the soundhole. These are both wired to a stereo Jack (the silver jack). I also have a MiSi magnetic pickup in the soundhole. This all gives you many options. You can simply plug a regular mono 1/4" cable into the silver jack and run through pretty much any guitar preamp. If you want to use the mic you will need an acoustic preamp designed for a stereo cable. K&K has some preamps for this. I used a DTAR preamp. The MiSi pickup is great because it is so lightweight so it doesn't effect the movement of the top of the guitar much at all. This pickup allows you to add in some more direct bass or harmonics to your mix.

I've attached a video of me using this guitar

Jim Triggs worked for the Gibson Custom Shop for six years, and now works with his son Ryan in Kansas City. Here is a handmade flat top tribute guitar from the Kansas Walnut Valley festival 38th year. This large body guitar has tons of crisp note fundamental, bright shimmering trebles and lots of volume. The abalone and pearl appointments add to the visual impact of this lovely set of curly maple on the sides and back. It plays really well, is in great overall shape with little wear and tear and comes with a TKL hardshell case.
