A Shergold Double neck 12 over 6 guitar custom built by Shergold between 1975-1976. All double necks were custom made and this one has a different “V” body shape made consistent with the customer’s wishes. As far as we know this is a unique guitar and only one of this shape was ever built by Shergold - it has all Shergold electrics inside and is all original - the guitar plays very well although quite heavy obviously - low action on both courses - the six string action is very low but plays great the 12 a little higher but still very playable there is no choking and reasonable relief on both 6 and 12 string - this is a unique guitar that was in storage from the mid 1980s until 2015 so pretty much unplayed and has very light fret wear and playwear - some marking and cracking in the paint on the body and around the neck pockets a common problem on Shergold guitars apparently but otherwise a unique instrument from the heyday of prog rock in great condition. Note- the guitar was apparently custom made for a London based prog rock band and used on one album the case has stickers and band name to outer - the guitar is housed in what looks like a custom “home made” case also hand made to fit by Shergold - please message us if you require more information on this unique custom built 70s double neck and we are happy to discuss reasonable offers around the price - please note we are selling this on behalf of a customer and collector who had the guitar professionally photographed for inclusion in an auction catalogue - the images are not ours (let’s face it they are better than we could do) we are happy to send additional detailed photos to serious buyers - lowball offers will be politely declined, reasonable offers will be forwarded to our client but there may be a slight delay in responding - thanks.
