This listing is for the Micro Portal, it is a custom shop pedal and is housed in an unpainted aluminum enclosure with labels. This is a custom shop pedal, the MIcro Portal is not an official release and probably won't be for a least another year, maybe two.

The Micro Portal is a stripped down version of an unleashed pedal and synth module called the Portal. It is a a unique tone decoder circuit designed around a phase locked loop ic. It produces a dense wall of gated, square distortion/fuzz with two different modulation modes (aka DIMENSIONs).

CONTROLS:

SENSITIVITY: This controls the strength of the signal going into the preamp of the circuit and because the circuit has a gated effect this control sets how sensitive the gating is to your playing. It helps to keep things from getting too glitch, if for some reason you don't like glitchy ;p

DIMENSION:

1: This position is very much like a ring modulator with dissonant, sideband klangs and cosmic shortwave radio goodness.

2: This one is more difficult to put into words but think pseudo-pitch shifting, octave stepping craziness ;).

SQR: In this position the modulation is disengaged but the massive squarewave fuzz remains. It's a killer fuzz with a uniqueness that is hard to put your finger on.

OUTPUT: This thing is stupid loud so PLEASE BE CAREFUL, I don't want anyone to damage their ears or equipment by setting this control too high.

FREQ EXP IN: Plug an expression pedal or a passive volume pedal (you only plug unto the output or AMPLIFER jack) into this jack and it will allow you to control the modulation FREQUENCY using the external exp or volume pedal. The effectiveness of the external pedal will vary depending on the particular pedal used.

Please check out the Youtube video below. In the video I'm using a modified Korg stereo passive volume pedal as an expression pedal. The modification was not done to make it work better with the Micro Portal, I only mention the mod in case someone ends up using one of these pedal and has different results then are seen/heard in the video. I also use a delay pedal towards the end of the video.

I ship within 4 days via USPS priority mail.
