limited time sale. . Howdy folks up for sale an your consideration is a Absolute little gem of a mandolin A made in japan Epiphone 1979-80 MM-50 F-5/ F12 mandolin. All original.

Production ran from 1979-80 for the made in japan mm-50 these are nice little gems. Korea started producing the mandolin from 1993-2003 iv owned 3 Koreans the run continued from 2004-2010 in china. iv also owned 2 china made mm-50s. The Korean quality was much superior to the Chinese crafted and the japan is level above the Koreans this is the only japan mm-50 iv played iv been after one for a little bit. Japanese take pride in there work that's a huge part of there culture. Look at neck they even attempted to flame it up that's lovely. the 70s were a Japanese boom for folk instrument produced some of the greatest affordable instruments come out of that period . Good quality wood was more ridable available at cheap prices. we just don't have what we had available to work with 50 years ago 40 years ago. it shows today in the instruments quality to price ratio.
Binding has aged Nicely to a golden tone. The grain is very tight. Tuners Hold tune very well. back sides neck headstock are in excellent condition. The tear drop corners have had the binding busted off it happens its easy enough to replace if desired, top has some minor wear a couple of nicks. the fretboard is very healthy same with the frets. Powerful Snappy deep, nice low end lots of resonation.. iv owned Eastman's Hand crafted china produced MD-815 an a 615 by far I prefer to tone on the japan Epiphone. That's what's slight lacking in my experience with the Eastman's mandolins. To be fair this dose have 30 years of aging over the Eastman's. This Epiphone has never left me feeling like there's something lacking in the mandolin it might not be the Gibson but its got a lot of its mojo. Approach 43 years old 🎉

Professional set up. Smooth action plays great. I do not sadly have a neck measurement tool but from my experience deep or shallow this neck is right in the middle with a very comfortable medium C. No sharp frets very very smooth at one point they were replaced/ upgraded currently I’d say 8/10 health they have experienced a little bit of play. I hate to be repetitive But great fret. feel No sharp frets all smooth. The Tuners, truss rod cover, Bridge and the tailpiece are all original parts There's a 50/50 chance that the tailpiece cover is original. It should say Epiphone on it but there's a chance its been polished off. Included is a heavy padded case in excellent condition. Feel free to reach out with any questions picture request whatever it may be I'm happy to help. Shipping will be prompt. Thank for reading.
