About This Listing

The Fender Swinger was a short-lived electric model released by Fender in 1969. It was the first of two CBS-era “leftover” guitars — fashioned from unused Musicmaster and Bass V bodies paired with short-scale necks; no more than a few hundred were made. It never appeared in any Fender sales brochures, catalogs or price lists. 22.5” scale.

This is a particularly rare Olympic White model, with red tortoise shell pickguard. Previous owner mod-ed the instrument with a second Humbucker pick-up and switch. 40+ years of honest cosmetic wear, as pictured. Includes hard case in tweed.

I bought this several years ago and enjoyed it thoroughly. Never performed it live, mostly stayed in it's case and just lightly played here and there for fun. It's a really special guitar and I hate to get rid of it, but I'd also love to get it to someone who will appreciate it more as it's been staying in it's case more often than not lately. When I bought the guitar it was considered 'Very Good' by the previous seller, I would say it's somewhere between 'Very Good' and 'Good'. No additional wear was put on by me.
