About This Listing

This unusual 6/48G model mandolin was built by Framus approx. in the 1950s. It is quite a rare instrument featuring some beautiful birdseye maple on the sides and back, spruce on the top and very rich purfling in a classic style. It is now set up a classic 8string mandolin with slighly higher gauge than I would in in the 12 string setup (it is super-comfortable to play like this thanks to the slightly wider fretboard and has a lovely ringing sound). However, it is fully prepared to be played in its original mandriola/tricordia 12string configuration, including the nut, bridge and tailpiece. The mandolin was checked, cleaned and retains great playability and beautiful projecting sound!

The instrument is in great, fully playable condition, the varnish is all original, the neck is straight with comfortable action, it has an ebony fretboard and frets in very good condition, the tuners work great.

I just love old guitars and mandolins – and always do my best to satisfy those who purchase them from me! Please don't hesitate to contact me if you'd like any further information. I always pack super carefully and ship worldwide! The mandolin will be shipped insured using priority post. Please contact me anytime for other options (UPS etc.)
