This is an all-pine telecaster with a one-piece body from reclaimed hundred year wood from Chumley's, an old speakeasy bar which had a fire and has been rebuilt. The neck is quite round and as per Rick's experience with this very stable wood has no truss rod. The nut dimension is 1.8" and the guitar weighs in at 6 pounds 6 ounces. The controls are set up like Bill Kirchen's with the switch toward the back. Pickups are by Don Mare and Bridge and plate are by Callaham. This guitar plays like a dream and has a Carmine Street hardcase as well.
The pine materials make a significant difference in the tone. The guitar is warm and has less treble attack than a maple neck telecaster. This gives you a much wider tone band to choose from.
These guitars take a year to order and this one has all the bells and whistles. It is currently for sale at 30th Street Guitars in Manhattan if you'd like to try it out. Skip the wait and get this one today!
