I OPENED THE BOX ON THIS ONE!!! Workers at Gibson CUSTOM and my DNA are the only ones to be found on this SG!!! ARGUABLY GIBSON'S BEST COLOR!!! THESE MURPHY LABS ARE INCREDIBLE!! This guitar is in as brand new condition and has the 2021 Murphy Lab LIGHT AGED (Not Ultra Light) certificate with all factory paperwork, hang tags, and original shipping carton. It was carefully taken out of its box for these photos and then stored back in its original box. It plays incredibly easy with a nice slinky feel (Maestroâ„¢ Vibrola allows for strings to be more "slinky")when bending notes and very loud unplugged. It has a nice punchy bottom end that stays tight and never muddy with mids that are fat and clear and very harmonic. (original custom buckers have real nice sparkle). This guitar sustains for ever!!!Great 59 soft shoulder neck "Carmalita-esque neck"w/minimal fret wear(see pic) This is a superior neck for bending strings, feels great in the hand!!! Check out the original solder joints!! The original hard case is also mint!!! It is really a killer classic rock sounding guitar and truly a one of a kind with the right pedigree that will always make it special and unique. The clunky side-pull vibrato had been replaced by the dependable Maestroâ„¢ Vibrola. The neck profiles had increased in size, resembling the profile found on 1959 Les Paulsâ„¢. And the balance, playability and look of the SG seemed to come into its own. For all those reasons, the Gibson Custom Shop is proud to present the 1964 SG Standard Reissue. Along with the Maestro Vibrola and chunky neck profile, it has all the hyper-accurate vintage specs one could possibly want -- original construction methods, chemically-recreated plastics, replica electronics, and more. The result is perhaps the best looking, feeling and sounding SG Reissue yet. It also features Light Aging by the skilled artisans of the Murphy Lab. The Murphy Lab Light Aged finish treatment, paired with lightly aged hardware, simulates decades of light play wear, giving it the unique character, vibe, and feel of an original example from the Gibson Golden Era.
