Absolute "case queen" material here! Time travel back 23 years and this would have been the pride and glory of many a local music shop. Fast forward to today, and this beauty has been literally, in her case and well preserved except for the occasional jaunt to the studio for recording.
I'll go out on a limb here, because *taste* is a very personal and qualitative thing amongst us musos, but this guitar "sits and feels" similar to a nice Les Paul, but plays with the swiftness and ease of a fine Custom PRS. It's got a mild neck, very comfortable. And the body just sits perfectly balanced, whether on your lap or hanging by a strap. If there was a lovechild between two beautiful guitars, a PRS and a Lester, this would be it.
As for condition, it's pristine! Yes, there are some very faint swirls near the pick zone, but looking for them requires a good eye and proper light. There is NO buckle rash or the like on the rear, and the neck shows no signs of wear. It is smooth and slick, and extremely addictive to hold and play. NO chips, dings or scratches on the body or corners, sides, etc. and this includes the headstock. There are 3 exceptionally small "pin dots" on the face that appear to have been borne of the lacquering process, not by human fault or use. They are practically undetectable unless pointed out, and at the time of this posting, I had a helluva time even trying to capture them in photo. Please don't let this deter you, as they're more "birth marks" then flaws, IMHO. The brass frets are in exceptional condition with a lifetime of use ahead of them - no excessive squaring, shaving or the like on any of them. Exceptional condition regardless of this guitars vintage.
The guitar was retrofitted in 2010 with a calibrated pair of brand new Bareknuckle Pickups, model "RiffRaffs", and the addition of a push-pot for split-coil use was installed on the bottom control knob. The sounds are luscious, warm, rich, full-bodied & complex in humbucker mode; to crisp, sharp & articulate in the single-coil mode. Stunning pups - period!! Outfitted with brushed nickel faceplates and wax potted, the guitar is dead quiet. Jazz, rock, grunge, crunch, blues, metal and even some country "spank" can all be doled out with deft hands on this beautiful instrument.
Original Hardshell Case, labelled "HamerUSA" in excellent condition considering its age - no damage, fully functional, and the faux fur lining is like new. SN on headstock 439602. This guitar was purchased in Victoria BC, around 1994, from a smaller boutique shop which sadly no longer exists. I am the original owner.
Guitar with all case-candy in OHSC will be shipped in a standard guitar shipping box, professionally packaged with styrofoam inserts and all precautionary measures taken. I am a proud member of the "Pack Em Tight Pack Em Right" club on various music forums. For online sales feedback, feel free to check eBay.ca for user "mojopovo" for reviews - 5 stars all the way. I am no longer using eBay as their practises are borderline piracy, IMHO. So here I am Reverb!! Thanks for having me.
Thanks for taking the time to read about this guitar. It's a solidbody electric, mahogany back & neck, beautifully flamed natural maple top, under a rich lustrous lacquer, brass frets, and a gorgeous open grain rosewood fingerboard. Headstock has a solid black veneer face with "Hamer USA" logo inlays. Single wrap-style stop bridge with allen-key intonation adjustments. Strum it, and it resonates forever; hold a note and make Nigel Tufnel jealous.
