Vintage Harmony 01010 early 1980s - Hummingbird (copy) Guitar

Please look closely at all of the images. It's the one in the middle in the pics with more than one guitar. This is Harmony's Hummingbird copy from the 80s (sometimes called a short-billed hummingbird). These early made-in-China models don't have serial numbers, so I don't know the exact year, but as far as I know they didn't make these except in the early to mid 80s. It's in really good shape for its age!

The action is a bit high, but very playable AND the intonation is good. In-fact it sounds great! It's really light and I think the top being lightly braced (or thin or whatever) pays-off in good tone.

I didn't try to do anything to bring the action lower or reduce the string tension (lighter strings and a slight turn on the truss rod might be all she needs). The finish is a bit dinged up here and there but all dings and scratches are very minor and the top and pick guard are in really nice cosmetic shape.

Tuners and hardware are original and work just fine. If you can't tell from the pictures the fingerboard is some kind of ebonized wood like you might see on a classical guitar, but it looks nice, the inlays and frets are in good shape and everything feels fine when playing.
