This Blue Metallic Precision Special Bass with matching headstock is not only "special" because of the gold hardware and incredible tone, but because this baby has been played and comes with authentic wear.
Matching headstock, custom metallic color and natural "relic" appearance and tone make this an incredible bargain.
Fender specs say alder body, active electronics (battery compartment in back), visible pole pickups, 3 knob, mini switch, white pickguard, maple neck with roasewood fingerboard, gold plated hardware, the MADE IN AMERICA was one of the first active electronic basses.  Original case.  Thumb rest and strap buttons replaced with authentic fender parts.

What makes this bass guitar special:

Even the Custom Shop hasn’t tried to reproduce yet. A 1980 P-bass with one of the most unique weather checking patterns and colorations we’ve ever seen! It plays like an absolute beast, with stellar resonance and a medium profile maple neck that trends ever so slightly thicker as you near the upper register. This beauty is all original and comes professionally setup and inspected by our expert in-house luthier, ready to play out of the case.

Cosmetic condition: Overall, this one has a fantastic and unique vintage look to it, with a gorgeous patina. In great shape!

Body: Contoured double cutaway alder body. 3-ply black pickguard, thumb rest, and top-loading 4-saddle bridge.

Weight: 11 lb, 9.6 oz

Neck: Medium profile maple neck with black side dots and pearl dot inlays. 1 5/8” nut width, 34” scale length. Fender open gear tuners in perfect functioning condition. Neck heel dates to 1980. Fingerboard is in phenomenal shape, and frets have a ton of life left in them, with almost no wear for its age. Neck is straight and plays terrific up and down the length of the instrument.

Case: Original Fender hard shell case included, but two lockers are in a fragile state, they do not lock at all.
