Artesano Orozco 20 1985 - Solid top

Orozco Artesano 20 Classical Guitar Made in Spain SOLID TOP

This is a genuine Spanish made classical guitar of fine quality with a solid top and traditional fan bracing.

I am thrilled to be able to offer it. Juan Orozco signed this guitar (Or he had a nice stamp.) I used to deal in Artesano/ Orozco new and and chat with Juan on the phone. Wonderful man and a bit of a legend from the family guitar shop in NYC - See the Wikipedia article.

Many of my students own Artesano or Orozco guitars and are very happy with them. They sound great and stand up to the test of time because they are well built in the traditional Spanish approach.

This one is all mahogany with a beautiful cedar top. The fingerboard is rosewood, nut and saddle are bone. It is loud, with rich basses and well-balanced trebles. In a word, if you're familiar with what a really well-made guitar sounds like, this is it. It is standard scale, 650 mm.

Take a look at the photos and see the fine maple binding contrasting beautifully with the body, pinstripe inlays, the lovely marquetry in the rosette and the skilled joinery.

It was made in 1986 and is well broken in and has acquired "that sound" from being both well taken care of and well played. It has a lovely high E string , the chanterelle, or “singing” string. That high E takes the load of melody notes. This one has a lovely lute-like quality to its sound. I would know, I’m also a Renaissance lutenist.

There are NO structural problems, cracks, etc. There are a few dings and scratches as can be expected in a 34 year old guitar, but for it's age it is in fine shape.

Strings are brand new (at time of writing) D'Adarrio J45.

With softshell case shown in photos in very good shape. Hinges latches all good no rust , pocket good , a little damage to outside.

 I sold the exact same model a while back on Reverb for 599.00 with no crack. So 499.00 with a crack is about right, I think. Hope you do as well. I will take offers but they must be reasonable. Meaning not "I get an amazing deal for me!"
