New, hand built with orange face plate, Cherry Silent Red keyswitches, black keycaps, walnut plywood case. Limited small run. Built for those who want to experiment inside and outside of eurorack.
Included is a power board and power cable. You may replace the passive board with the powered board. This module would then perform exactly like the powered version. The powered version would require power obviously, so you would need to remove it from the standalone case and rack it in a powered eurorack case.
Main function: passive, 9 temporary gate switches with normalled outputs in ascending order. Useful as a performance tool to inject humanization into monotonous patterns and sound design experiments.
The Klacking Keypad in a standalone, passive version. Very similar to the powered version's hardware and functionality except for a couple differences, this passive version passes inputs through diodes instead of op-amps and comes in its own unique standalone case. Diodes are used to direct signals in ascending order, preventing unwanted mixing of signals when a lot of inputs are present and a lot of buttons are pressed. Diodes will prevent negative voltages and voltage drops should be expected with passive circuits.
The ground of the pcb board is accessible on the front of the case, via a banana jack and cord. This may be useful in certain setups where two or more pieces of hardware need to share a ground. Otherwise, it does not need to be connected.
The module can be removed from the case and racked if needed. The case is lasercut plywood with rubber feet. Making it a very useful control tool that can be placed away from your modular system for easy access or as a handheld controller.
