About This Listing

The 600W Genz-Benz Uber Bass 2 x 12" Bass Speaker Cabinet design delivers punch and character from a cast frame Neodymium GNX12300 loudspeaker. The Uber Bass speaker's impressive output and tonal clarity is matched with the classic styling and lighter weight cabinet designs of the entire Uber series. The 12" loudspeakers are blended with a compression bullet tweeter and an 18 dB crossover, providing both Speakon and 1/4" connections and a tweeter level control.

Genz-Benz Uber series bass speaker enclosures are high-output, very powerful, very efficient, bass cabinets designed around their neodymium loud speakers. The first thing you'll notice about the cabinets are the classic-yet-contemporary styling, using a black nubby vinyl for the covering, edge-lift handles in three locations, and a wire mesh grille to stretch very tightly across a heavy-duty wooden frame, secured in seven locations.

The cabinet is 600W and 4 Ohm. Behind the grille, the speakers are positioned diagonally on the square baffle balanced off by the compression bullet tweeter. As with all Genz Benz' Neodymium drivers, careful selection goes into the components, the surround, the cone, the dust cap, spider, all the way down to the 2-1/2" edge-wound voice coil. Even in the adhesives, Genz uses high-temperature glue to ensure premiere mechanical construction of the speaker. The 18 dB crossover uses a Speakon and two 1/4" inputs, sealed so that no air leaks out from the cabinet. The 212 Uber's shell is constructed of 13-ply birch and poplar plywood, a dense 3/4" MDF baffle, braced heavily from front to back, effectively tying the baffle to the back of the cabinet. The heavy-duty cleating around the outer edge, secures the baffle to the shell. All elements and materials are used to provide a solid foundation and sonic chamber for the powerful thrust produced by the Neodymium drivers.

The shelf port features a smooth-tone porting system, with radiused edges to reduce the turbulent artifacts from the velocity that escapes through the port. The benefit is a cleaner, tighter feel to the bottom end. The response is quick, thick and articulate. It has a low frequency punch for a big, round and meaty tone. The mid range is clear and concise and the tweeter tops off the clarity of the cabinet nicely. Features
