Gretsch G4164SS USA Custom 6.5x14 Solid Steel Snare Drum

The Gretsch G4164SS USA Custom 6.5x14 Solid Steel Snare Drum delivers the powerful attack, projection, and sensitivity that players expect from a professional Gretsch metal snare drum. Built around a substantial solid steel shell, this snare offers a focused response with plenty of body, crisp articulation, and the headroom needed for hard-hitting live performance.

The 6.5x14 size gives the G4164SS a full-bodied voice with strong low-end presence while maintaining the sharp crack and clarity associated with a steel snare drum. Die-cast hoops help focus the tone and provide a solid feel under the sticks, making rimshots and cross-sticks especially pronounced.

A high-count snare wire setup provides excellent sensitivity across a wide dynamic range, allowing the drum to respond clearly to ghost notes, brushes, and softer playing while still delivering an authoritative backbeat when pushed. The Gretsch Lightning throw-off provides smooth and dependable snare engagement, while classic Gretsch hardware and styling give the drum a premium USA Custom appearance.

Whether you are looking for a powerful rock snare, a versatile studio snare drum, or a professional steel snare with plenty of projection, the Gretsch G4164SS offers the combination of sensitivity, strength, and focused tone that has made Gretsch snare drums a favorite among working drummers.
