About This Listing

2021 Prelude Electric Guitar
"The Benoit"

Crisp clean tone with just a little crunch with volume at tap and neck feels hefty, something to grab so you don't feel like you're squeezing too hard

The Benoit is a model named after one of our favorite guitarists, Tab Benoit, who plays a vintage guitar in a very similar "Deluxe" configuration. This particular guitar was upgraded with a set of humbuckers from Brian Porter called the "Gatekeeper" series. In short, the guitar has a vintage "bluesy" feel but the humbuckers really cut through with a PAF sound. Paired with the maple fingerboard and the 25.5" scale length, it's a really killer guitar!!
It's a comfortable guitar for 25.5" scale, and we would definitely refer to the neck shape as a "Full C" that feels very vintage but comfortable.
*This neck does not feel like a Fender Neck, much different in fact, and we love it because it stays in tune quite well. Please contact us for any details or measurements on this before purchasing, we are happy to measure and give personal input on that since we all play guitar.

*see photos for paint imperfections near the input jack and back*

Here at Music49, we've been in the business building custom guitars since our inception in 2003, but unfortunately the limitations of our custom creations finding the hands of a working musician has proven to be the "cost factor". Plain and simple, our custom guitars have never been Cheap to purchase.

FINALLY, we have learned how to make an AFFORDABLE CUSTOM GUITAR!!!

Behold, our "PRELUDE" series!!!
These guitars are assembled "in house", where we pick and choose components that we feel give the best "BANG FOR THE BUCK" but still feel like a "custom" guitar. Since we actually assembled and finished the guitar, we basically handled the "quality control" issues that many overseas guitar companies neglect, and we focus on 5 major components of the guitars:

1. Fret Level, crown, & Polish
2. Neck Angle
3. Nut Slots
4. Electrical Components
5. Tuning Machine Stability

For instance, we purchase a fretted and carved neck for these from a vendor, but almost always we level, crown, and polish the frets. If we see or feel an issue, we do our best to fix it during the assembly process. In addition, we hardly ever like the mass production nut slots, so we frequently re-file them to our liking, or in some cases make a new nut. Sticky tuning machine???......no problem, if we don't like them, we'll upgrade or replace them!

"In essence, the Mission for our Prelude guitars is to make them as affordable as possible, while making proper function the first priority.
Now we don't spend 120 hours building these guitars, and they are priced as such, but if we need to spend an extra hour or two on fretwork to make it play better, or solder in a better capacitor for tone, then we do so. We build guitars, and we know how frustrating some of these issues can be, and we'd like to think that we do a good job making them better. We didn't re-invent the wheel here, instead we are greasing the Ball Bearings"
