Up for sale is a rare 2000 Fender Cyclone USA in surf green.
These rare American made Cyclones are usually only found on the Japanese used market.
The guitar features two stock Fender noiseless single coil pickups, a 2 point bridge, a maple neck, rosewood fretboard, 3 way selector switch, a master tone control and a master volume control. Everything is original apart from the tone pot which was replaced due to it not functioning.
Fender Cyclones have the shorter Gibson 24.75 inch scale length compared to a Strat or Tele.
The guitar is in great condition overall for being 20+ years old although it does have the usual signs of wear that I have tried to highlight in the pictures. The most notable signs of wear are some scratches on the back behind the lower horn and impressions on the headstock near the cyclone decal. There are no huge dings or paint chips/cracks and there is very minimal belt rash. There is a very faint smoke smell to the guitar but is not noticeable unless your nose is touching the guitar.
The hardware is in good shape with only a little bit of pitting on the bridge and corrosion on the screws - again I have tried to show this in the pictures. The bridge is currently 'locked down' by tightening the screws in the back cavity. The jack and pots are tight and so is the pickup selector. The pots are in good shape with only the volume pot exhibiting an extremely faint noise when being turned. As mentioned earlier the tone pot was replaced with a new CTS pot.
The frets are in great shape with very little fret wear visible and plenty of life left in them. The guitar feels great to play with the nicely rolled fretboard edges and a satin finish on the back of the neck. I believe that the neck profile is a C shape that feels slightly fuller than my Fender Mexican stratocaster neck - overall very comfortable.
The guitar weighs a comfortable 8lbs 1oz and is currently set up with 10-46 Ernie Ball regular slinky strings. Unfortunately it does not come with a case or gig bag but will be carefully packed for shipping.
