It's a sad day but I need to say goodbye to my Strat.
When I first saw this at Vintage and Rare in Bath I was instantly reminded of a very famous Strat and I was not disappointed when I played it. It's a wonderful instrument and is a credit to the craft of the Fender Custom Shop.
These were built to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Strat and were supposed to be faithful replicas of those 1954 originals with the exception of having a 9.5 inch radius and bigger frets and the bridge pickup wired to the time control and a five way switch.
The necks on these are quite big - it reminds me of a 50s Tele - but for me, I find it very comfortable. Just be aware this is not a skinny neck.
Sound wise, it's what you would expect of a great Strat with CS pickups.
This one is in great condition (feels weird to say that about a heavy relic!) With only the plastic of the knobs showing signs of age/wear. The lower tone knob broke into two pieces and has been re-glued and the volume knob, while whole, does not grip the splines to turn the potentiometer. I have not tried to fix that, rather, I've used a different knob I picked up in my local music shop.
There are never very many of these up for sale (please don't confuse these with the regular production line variants) as they are quite special. It's priced fairly and is a steal compared with a new CS Strat.
I have listed this as collection only but please message me to discuss options for getting it to you. I would prefer for you to see and play it really. Payment by bank transfer is preferred as PayPal are being unhelpful at the moment.
