About This Listing

This listing is for a Conrad "Violin Style" bass guitar. This guitar was made in Japan in the late 60's-early 70's but we are not sure of the exact year. From  my experience of living in Chicago as a young player in the 60's and working in some local music stores, I believe these are imported by a local Chicago distributor, either David Wexler or Targ & Dinner. These were among the first of the high quality imports from Japan.

This bass is in excellent shape, see the pictures above for the best view of the cosmetic condition. There are some minor surface scratches and some finish checking, mostly between the pickups on the front of the bass. There are also some minor blemishes and discoloration on and around the binding, which we believe to be original factory blemishes. We took the time to picture the affected areas, please examine all photos carefully before purchasing. Otherwise, the instrument is in outstanding condition considering its age.

This bass has been professionally set up in our shop to play and sound great. These basses are hard to find, especially in this condition. If you are looking for a cool vintage bass of this style from the 60's this bass could be for you!
