About This Listing

10-1472 Epiphone Zephyr De Luxe 1947 Hollowbody Archtop Electric guitar in Amber Blonde Finish Made in 1947. This guitar despite its age still plays and sounds fantastic. The guitar features a spruce top, flame maple back & sides and Brazilian rosewood fretboard. This guitar at the time was the top of the line for Epiphone and one of the first electric guitars of its kind. Key aesthetic features include the Vine headstock inlay, cloud fretboard inlays, gold hardware, and bound body, neck and headstock. This guitar still has several original parts including the Epsilon embossed tuning machines, bridge with Brazilian rosewood saddle, Frequensator tailpiece, and volume & tone knobs with mounted plates. The original P-90 style pickup has been replaced with a very rare Gibson embossed pat sticker Humbucker from the early 70’s. The Lifton hardshell case belongs to a vintage Epiphone Zephyr but this would have been for a latter model from the 50’s. This 18” brown Lifton case with pink interior is very sought after and has value of its own. If it wasn’t for the guitar playing and sounding great I would be tempted to part the guitar out for the value in the Lifton case, Gibson Humbucker, Epsilon tuners, and Brazilian rosewood bridge. However although this is a mix or original and replaced parts the guitar has come together very nicely and is a solid playing and sounding guitar that has a tone of vibe. The guitar itself is in good condition for its age however there are several dings, dents, stress cracks, and it has had a re-fret.     All our instruments are accurately pictured and described. Buyers are encouraged to ask questions before placing an orde.g.
