The 1962 Fender Deluxe Amp is in excellent condition. This amp shows signs of play wear and age throughout including some small nicks in the original Tolex covering, some dark staining of the grill cloth and some wear and small scratches on the face plate. The original speaker has been replaced with an Eminence Alessandro GA-SC64 and the foot switch is a reproduction. This amplifier has been expertly serviced by Hime Amplification in Nashville, TN. It was re-tubed, re-capped, throughly cleaned and inspected and a three prong power cable was installed for safe operation. Both transformers are original and date to the 51st and 46th week of 1961. The volume pot has a visible code that dates to 1959 and the rest of the pots appear to be original. This amp operates perfectly and sounds like a million bucks. At low volumes, this Deluxe has a very nice mellow tone that works perfectly as a pedal platform for delays and overdrives but with the volume increased is where this amp really excels. When the volume is pushed this amp breaks up into complex, vintage saturation that cleans up nicely with the volume control of the guitar. This Deluxe is one of the finest sounding examples that I have played in quite some time. If you are after one of these brown panel Deluxe amps, I would definitely not sleep on this one. This is a perfect grab and go vintage tube amplifier for small gigs and studio use and a superb addition to any instrument collection.
