Up for sale, a 2017 Schecter KR-24-2H-MM-FXD-IKP Limited Edition model in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original padded gigbag. This exceedingly rare variant of the T-style KR-24 platform was made in Japan to celebrate the 10th anniversary of prolific Japanese guitar dealer Ikebe Gakki opening their Shinsaibashi, Osaka location. Two models were produced in extremely limited quantities for this event, identical except for their finishes; this is the Red Fade iteration.

Taking its cues from the Tom Anderson Cobra T both aesthetically and sonically, the KR-24's tonewoods include a mahogany body with a deeply figured quilted and contoured maple top and a maple neck capped with a 24 fret thick slab rosewood fretboard. The balance of maple and mahogany ensures both fundamental warmth and treble articulation, qualities that translate faithfully through the Super Rock J humbuckers. Not coincidentally, these large pole pickups mirror a similar design by Tom Anderson, who wound many early Schecter pickups in the '80s, offering articulation, punch, and richness perfectly tailored to heavy gain or charismatic cleans. The neck pickup is rounder and fuller, with a focused low end end and ample midrange cut. The bridge position has more treble snap, with a tailored midrange. A global push/pull coil tap and variable high/low-cut Tone knob dramatically extend the KR-24's versatility, enabling a wide array of bright, sparkling tones. This KR-24 weighs 7lbs 1oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action and accurate intonation.

The maple neck has a slender C-shaped profile carve with well-rounded shoulders and a gente increase in overall heft further up the fretboard, measuring .795” deep at the 1st fret and .930” at the 12th. The 24-fret slab rosewood fretboard has a 12” radius and is a notably thick and tight-grained cut of this tonewood with medium jumbo frets that retain their full factory height and well-rounded crowns, showing only light wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-5. The guitar plays cleanly in all registers up the 25 1/2” scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The original bone nut measures 1 11/16” in width. The headstock has a quilted maple veneer, color-matched to the Red Fade finish on the body. The Gotoh SG360-07 locking tuners turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch.

On the body, all the electronics work as intended, with the Super Rock J humbuckers governed by Master Volume and Tone controls and a three-way pickup selector switch, with a global coil split two-way mini toggle. The dual-function Tone knob is a push/pull design; when the knob is down, it offers a standard treble roll-off. With the knob raised, it becomes a bass roll-off, yielding (particularly in tandem with the coil split engaged) thinned-out, hollow single coil-style cut. Hardware includes the Hipshot .175 fixed string-through six-saddle bridge and dome-top knurled knobs, all with bright chrome plating. The Red Fade gloss finish highlights the deep, wall-to-wall figuring in the quilted maple top, with cosmetic wear limited to a pair of small chips on the treble-side lower bout edge adjacent to the input jack, and a scant few light finish scratches on the body as a whole. The control cavity cover retains its factory protective film, and both pickups have their factory stickers, indicative of the limited use this guitar has seen since new. The satin finish on the neck profile is fast and smooth.

The original Schecter padded gigbag is included.
