Gibson SG Bass 2006 Coral Blue Limited

Here we have a beautiful SG Bass in the incredibly rare faded Coral Blue finish. This color (along with a couple other limited colors) was made exclusively for the Japanese market in 2006 and only a handful of US dealers received them when they were produced, so they don’t pop up on the used market too often. The bass is equipped with Gibson’s TB Plus humbucker in the neck and their mini-humbucker in the bridge, so it has a very “modern” tone to it that isn’t quite as “boomy” as the EB3 basses, instead it has a much tighter and punchier low end, perfect for a variety of genres. The short scale is very comfortable to play and the thin mahogany body is a perfect weight for longer sets. Action is low and intonation is excellent, just an excellent bass all around.

This one has been played and sports the “natural relic” look, which happens pretty easily with the thinner “faded” finish, but it’s worn in all the right places and still looks excellent from more than a couple feet away. There is a good section of buckle rash in the center of the back that can’t really be seen in photos, aside from that, just normal wear on the finish and a couple very small scuffs and nicks here and there. Original hard case is included as well.
