This Roland VG-8 Guitar Synth is part of
the estate of a recently deceased friend who had a large collection of guitars,
pedals and amps. I am selling this item and other items from the collection to
benefit his widow. If you would like to see other items from my friend’s estate
enter “Hank’s gear” in the search box.
The VG-8 is in excellent operating
condition and very good cosmetic condition. Included with the VG-8 unit is full
documentation, two CDs containing sound samples, and a “Traditional 1” sound
library data card. Not included is a GK guitar pickup or the 13-pin cable that connects a GK-equipped guitar to the unit. These items are easily found here on Reverb or on eBay.
Here’s a description of this unit from
Roland’s web site:
“The Roland VG-8 is a breakthrough guitar processor that uses
advanced modeling technology to emulate the most popular guitars and amplifiers
in music history. Using Roland’s Composite Object Sound Modeling (COSM)
technology, the VG-8 combines multiple "sound objects"—like
double-cutaway guitar bodies, vintage tweed amplifiers, and humbucking
pickups—to create a perfect reproduction of these components that can be played
from any steel-stringed guitar with a Roland GK-2A pickup. The VG-8 also has a
built-in polyphonic pitch shifter for creating 12-string guitars and open
tunings as well as a complete digital effects processor and parametric EQ.”
