THIS IS A 1961 FENDER STRATOCASTER SLAB BOARD, SONIC BLUE, ALL ORIGINAL EXCEPT FOR A GORGEOUS REFINISH BY FIESTA FINISHES. THE REFINISH USED TRADITIONAL NITROCELLULOSE LACQUER (THE SAME MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES THAT FENDER USED IN 1961). IT INCLUDES THE ORIGINAL BROWN TOLEX HARD SHELL CASE!
The pickups measure 5.4K Ohms, 5.6K Ohms, and 5.9K Ohms, going from neck to bridge. This guitar has the amazing bell/glassy tone that a strat is truly known for. The neck date is 12/61, so this guitar has more of a '62 style neck, which is thicker than the overly thin necks seen in '59-'60. The neck measures .819" at first fret and .997" at 12th fret. The neck has some light flame in the maple. The pots are coded 304 6143. The serial number is 69XXX. The guitar weighs 7 lb. 12 oz.
I had this guitar checked out by a vintage specialist and it is all original other than the refinish. Since it's a refinish, the decal has been replaced. The only other thing is the right tip of the pick guard horn has been repaired and replaced.
This guitar is truly beautiful and in amazing condition.
