Kay 4140 Sizzler 1958 Brown/White Plextone

Here is a rare piece in remarkable condition.
vintage 1958 Kay 4140 Sizzler model in Brown & White Plextone aka Zolotone textured finish. This guitar was made in Chicago Illinois USA at the original Kay factory.
It is 100% original and in excellent condition.
Features a set neck with maple fingerboard.
The body is very nice with and the finish in in excellent condition.
This particular finish was offered only from 1956-1958 so it is both early and rare.
The neck joint is solid and the neck angle is excellent. The neck is smooth and straight and has a gigantic FULL-C profile. It is really a great feeling neck. The tuners are nice and work well. The headstock and logo display excellent. The neck is a nice Gibson-style width: the nut measures 1 11/16th”
The string height is low for a fast and easy action. The frets are in good condition. The electronics all function well. The pickup has an excellent bluesy vibe with a decent snap attack. The tailpiece is in very good condition-super rare for these guitars.
The guitar is very lightweight (6.10lbs.) and lots of fun to play.
The original case is in excellent condition on the outside and good condition in the inside. Another rare item to be sure.
