For your consideration is a vintage 1970's made-in-Japan Univox LP style electric guitar. This singlecut sunburst guitar was built in the height of the lawsuit guitar production era where many companies were attempting to get their version of iconic guitar designs into the market. Many of these designs are highly sought after not only for their great feel and price, but for their rarity due to the eventual lawsuits bringing their production to an end.

This particular guitar (SN: 008365) is in good shape and is fully functional but does suffer from dings, scratches, and swapped out parts. The guitar has been tested in house and all electronic components function as intended. Truss rod adjusts neck as intended and tuning machines move without issue. Cosmetically, as shown in photos, it does have several areas of wear that we noticed. The following is a list of what we found:

  • Chipped headstock binding
  • Dings in faceplate of headstock
  • Paint swaps or chips in corners of headstock
  • Missing truss rod cover plate
  • Dings in neck
  • Non-structural chips in finish around heel
  • Body dings around the edges (most notably the scraped section along bottom right near volume/tone knobs
  • Plate wear to bridge and other hardware
  • Chipped internal portion of tone knob
  • Scratches and dings on rear of body
  • Poorly re-drilled jack plate
There is a possibility of more issues we did not find, but we attempted to look through the guitar quite thoroughly and photograph / discuss all noticed items.

Guitar plays great and considering its age, looks pretty good too! Would make a great player, a cool collectible, or a combination of both!!!

Thanks for your consideration!
