Slingerland Tenor Banjo circa 1920 Walnut/Calfskin

Remarkably well-aged Slingerland Tenor Banjo circa 1920.  Judging from the walnut construction, single star logo, and Bakelite/nickel tuners, this is a very early model.  The hardware is all original except for a brand new Grover replacement bridge.  The tailpiece is unbranded.  The original calfskin head sounds great and has the lovely patina you'd expect from a roughly 100 year old instrument.

The Slingerland stamp, with a single star on each side, is laquered but clearly visible on the dowel.

Play wear is consistent with an instrument of this age.  Please check the pictures carefully to assess the condition.  As with any aged instrument, this banjo has had quite a life - that's what makes it so beautiful.
