About This Listing
1978 Hohner String Performer. Works, sounds awesome and lush but needs some maintenance, like control cleaning. Controls are stiff and some are scratchy, but work. Insanely heavy, sounds ridiculously orchestral.
The Hohner String Performer is a fully electronical string machine made
in Germany. It has strings in 3 footages (CELLO, VIOLA, VIOLIN), which
are mixable via volume faders. Also CLAVICHORD and PIANO presets, all
free mixable. Each half of the keyboard has these features. A bass
preset can be added to the left half of the keyboard.
"This is about as lush sounding as string machines get! The Hohner
String Performer is one of the unsung heroes of the synth world. It
allows blending of its different voices: Violin, Viola, Cello,
Clavichord, and Piano. It also has a lead mode, implementable in its
various voices. Other great features are individual sound outputs,
sustain pedal input, and built on lit."
