This 2011 GIBSON Custom Shop Ace Frehley Signature Budokan Les Paul is not only #1 of the AGED Series it is from the PERSONAL COLLECTION OF ACE FREHLEY HIMSELF!   In addition this collection has SIGNED BOOTS, STRAP, BOOK, CD, PHOTO and this previously owned and played by ACE GUITAR has been SIGNED TWICE for a TOTAL OF SEVEN autographs in the collection.   This is for SUPER FANS ONLY!

Ace Frehley is considered one of Rocks most Iconic guitarists. And the guitar that I associated the Spaceman with most, is his 3 Pickup Cherry Les Paul. Ace first used the Iconic guitar 3 pickup cherry Les Paul on the Love Gun album and then he famously performed with the guitar live in Tokyo Japan, thus the guitar's name...

Becoming Ace’s #1 guitar Live and in studio from 1977 – 1980 and then again on KISS’s Reunion Tour in 1996, the guitar has become highly iconic by being the most filmed guitar with Ace during the height of KISS’s success.  ACE calls it the Budokan Les Paul after being used on the first ever Rock Concert filmed and broadcast by HBO at Japan’s Budokan Concert Hall in 1977.

Counting the 1978 solo albums, (Of which Ace Frehley’s was the best selling) Kiss has been awarded 30 gold albums to date, the most of any American band. The band has sold more than 40 million albums in the US and their worldwide sales exceed 100 million records, making them one of the world's best-selling bands of all time.

Ace’s Budokan guitar was first purchased during late in 1976 the Rock & Roll Over tour and first used in the studio for the recording of the Love Gun Album & featured on such tracks as Shock Me.

Ace Customized the guitar himself by adding a Dimarzio Super Distortion Pickup in the Bridge and two Dimarzio PAF’s in the Middle and Neck positions. He also added Gold Speed Knobs, Bango Tuners and cream colored cavity covers and pickup rings.

This collection is centered around the Ace Frehley Budokan Aged, Owned Signed Les Paul #001 - with the unique one of kind Ownership Provenance "From The Personal Collection Of ACE FREHLEY" penned in black on the inside Control Cavity Cover by none other than the Spaceman himself!

This guitar was given to Ace by The Gibson Custom Shop as is customary with the first guitar of a series and designated with the Serial Number of #1. Sometimes the Guitar is NOT part of the official run and is labeled Artist Proof with several made until the Artist gives his approval. Once Approved and all changes have been signed off on, an Artist Tribute serial number series begins often with #2 being the first available to the public. This Custom Shop Budokan was part of the Official AGED series, is the lowest number in the AGED series and this #001 Budokan guitar was given to Ace FREHLEY for his own personal collection.

When the guitar left Ace's personal collection it was signed on the back of the headstock. The Provenance of Ace Frehley's ownership is signed on the inside of the Control Cavity with the Statement, "From The Personal Collection Of ACE FREHELY" which was done in my presence and photographically documented by me.   Photos of ACE with the guitar and signing in my presence available upon request.

This Guitar is not only #1 in the AGED series, it was OWNED & PLAYED by ACE himself.   It has been signed not only once by ACE, but TWICE!  It is signed on the back of the headstock and again on the inside of the Control Cavity with a NOTE of Provenance that it was from ACE's personal collection.   

This is by far an extremely rare and more valuable Budokan due to the highly currated items and previous ownership by and played by ACE.

Meticulously aged to match all of Ace’s original instruments imperfections, 3 Pickup design and unique tuning keys.

This Collection includes a Gibson Custom Ace Frehley "Budokan" Aged, Owned & Signed (back of headstock and in the control cavity) and with the lowest serial number in the series #001.
