Alvarez Model 5006 Balada Classical guitar made in JAPAN, serial number 343 stamped on the brace inside the hole just under the neck end, probably made between 1970 and 1974, according to our research. One of the best playing and sounding classical guitars that we have had for under $500. Very close to the quality of the Alvarez Yairi classical guitars that we have sold for quite a bit more than we are asking for this one. Excellent tone, volume, deep, resonant, bass, to balanced midrange, and bright, pleasant treble. Beautifully grained Rosewood back and sides with a laminated Spruce top. In very nice overall condition with a ¾” ding on the top towards the end (see closeup photo #7 below the description). The nut is 2 inches wide, the string scale is 26”, the upper bout measures 11 7/16”, lower bout is 14 ¾”, body depth is 3 11/16”, overall length is 39.5”. 6-ply top binding, 3-ply sides and back binding. A small wood chip on the heel (see closeup photo), and a few small indentations on the back of the neck between the first and second frets (possibly from being leaned against a table or desk?). The frets and fretboard are in very good condition and, other than the previously noted items, is showing only the normal wear to be expected on a 40-year-old instrument. Comes in the original valance-bound better-quality hardshell case with the yellow lining. All latches, hinges, and the handle are in very good condition. See for more inventory. We accept PayPal. WE SHIP IN NEW BOXES! Our instruments have been set up for string height, playability, and intonation (a $55 expense), are CLEAN, and have no major issues (broken headstocks, changed or missing parts, severe belt-buckle rash, electronic or trussrod issues, etc.). Frets are cleaned and fretboards treated with neck honey. We strive to present only the best and always show large photographs and point out details. The items we sell are used. Therefore, they may exhibit at least the minimal amount of wear one would expect on a used musical instrument or accessory for the item's age. We try to disclose any defects or cosmetic issues to the best of our abilities and show them in closeup pictures on the auction site. However, it is impossible to note every nick and scratch on a used instrument or accessory. We welcome any questions and we are more than happy to answer them. If something in the description or photographs is unclear, please ask. Item must be paid for within 3 days.
