The AC15 Hand-Wired combo serves up 15 watts of power through a classic single 12" Celestion Alnico Blue speaker. Equipped with three ECC83/12AX7 preamp tubes, two EL84 power tubes and an EZ81 rectifier tube, the hand-wired AC15 delivers all of those warm, juicy, luscious tube tones that VOX is famous for. The AC15 Hand-Wired employs two of VOX's most iconic channels, NORMAL and TOP BOOST, to dish out that legendary VOX voice. Both the NORMAL and TOP BOOST channels come equipped with independent HIGH and LOW inputs; the HIGH input provides more gain and output volume while the LOW input is quieter with more clean headroom.
The NORMAL channel sports an independent VOLUME control along with a BRIGHT switch for when you need some extra top-end shimmer. The TOP BOOST channel features a 2-band EQ (Bass & Treble), an independent VOLUME control, and a unique foot-switchable HOT/COOL switch. In COOL mode, the TOP BOOST channel operates in traditional fashion with the TREBLE and BASS controls fully activated. Great for leads and solos, the HOT setting partially bypasses the tone controls to offer a more pure signal path and a boost in gain. The MASTER section consists of a TONE CUT and MASTER VOLUME control with a bypass switch. Drop down to half power (7.5 watts) via the OP MODE switch for a less distorted power amp and smooth high frequency roll off. Dual external speaker jacks allow for use with an extension cab.
