What better way to celebrate 50 years of The Grateful Dead! Custom, one of a kind, unique are some of the words one could use to describe this beautiful and functional piece. A very close representation of the cherished bass played by Phil Lesh during the October 1974 tour( you can see the original in the Grateful Dead Movie),this Alembic was built using Alembic's files on basses made specifically for Phil.It is formed from a beautiful marbled piece of dark reddish brown cocobolo wood, a wood noted for it's unique resonant quality. All of the inlays are custom and hand done, from the mother of pearl crescent moon and double stars on the 12th fret to the abalone ovals on the frets, knobs and stars around the controls. The neck, five piece maple and purpleheart, the fingerboard, ebony , the finish high gloss polyester. It is a wide body with an omega shape and it has 20th anniversary electronics, giving that "Phil Bomb" sound. This is a truly magnificent piece to play and is in excellent condition, rarely played and would be a treasure to own.(case included) I will ship to the continental United States only and will ship once payment clears my bank.
