Excellent Playing Guitar. In really good shape for its age.
This guitar was produced at the Chushin-Gakki factory and sold in Japan
under the now discontinued Jackson Stars brand. It’s apparently known as
the ASL-J2E from what I can see in the Jackson Stars catalog archived
online for 2004, which is the oldest Jackson Stars catalog available
on the Jackson website.
Specifications and play-ability - this axe is killer. It has an
arched alder body, maple thru neck, bound EBONY fret board with the
classic shark fin inlays, 24 frets, and a 25.5” scale length. The bridge
and neck pickups are both the EMG 81. You’d be surprised at how
versatile these pickups are. It’s very easy to get shimmering cleans or
screaming lead solo sounds.
The Floyd Rose bridge was made by Schaller and holds up well to whammy usage.
The
craftsmanship is impressive. It has everything you would expect from a
well made instrument from Japan. Heck, I’d even argue it is as good as
the USA made Jackson's I’ve played.
Jackson recently relaunched
their Made In Japan series in 2021 and if you wanted the new Soloist SL2
model from that line, you’d be paying at least $2,199 buying new
condition! I’d say these used Jackson Stars Soloists are a better
bargain.
The guitar is in fairly good condition for a 20 year
old instrument. There are a couple of small dents, paint chips, and
scratches on the body and headstock. I have documented these in my
photos the best I can.
I will be including the Gator hard shell case as well. The whammy bar arm is also included.
When I ship it, it will be well packed for safe shipping.
