Vingage Carlsbro 2x12 CS40 Valve / Tube combo amplifier - Celestion / Mullard - 1960's Plexi Era

Carlsbro CS40 combo

Lovely sixties 2x12 valve combo from circa 1967

Cheaper than a Selmer, Vox or a Marshall combo from the same era, funnily enough just as rare, you really dont see many of them about, not as common as the Selmer zodiac thats for sure.

Not too much difference in components, design and sound from any of the above being totally honest - great recording amp

The only thing to note is that the middle knob is actually a treble cut control when its on 0 loads of top end comes through as you turn it to the right it cuts the treble

Fully functional with its original Drake transformers, Vintage Mullard EL34 power valves and the original Brimar preamp valves, the speakers, valves and transformers are worth the asking price alone.

These do not have a 110v tap so you will need a step up transformer to use this in North America.

Only selling as I have three of these and while that is nice it’s not really an amp I need more than one of!

This is in great condition, not trashed at all, the usual wear, its just gone in for a check up with my amp tech, I'll update the listing with more photos(gut shots etc) once I get it back tomorrow.

The only thing to note is that the drivers are not original to the combo and are a pair of Celestion creambacks from 1975

These sound killer in this set up and compliment the amp perfectly! 

It’s really rather heavy so postage isn’t cheap.

 I will send this out in 2x packages(the amp chassis separate to the combo housing as the design doesn’t lend itself to being shipped together) this is reflected in the postage price
